Changelog
Everything that changed, version by version: 7 releases since the first build. These are the same notes the game shows on its title screen.
The notes cover the whole game: here and there they give something away.
No changes match those words.
0.13.0latest
New features
- Runess has a website, in English and Italian: «Website» at the top right of the title screen opens it.
Additions
- When the princess writes a new page in her diary, a little book in the bottom left shows it as she writes, and a bookmark next to your promises reminds you of the pages to read at the lectern.
- Fifty new gifts: eighteen simple, sixteen medium and sixteen major, each from a fairy tale, with its own icon and, if it touches the bolt, its own mark on the comet.
- Five new secret rooms: roughly one secret room in two holds, besides the chest, something of its own, a light and its own icon on the minimap.
- New secrets, deep down in the castle.
Changes
- The updates are shorter, split into new features, additions, changes and fixes.
- Vases and crates no longer show a hint: a bolt still breaks them.
- Between floors, in the chart of the descent, the floor the pink door's stairs lead to now sits on top of the one it replaces.
- At the lectern, the pen writes the diary's new pages before your eyes.
- On the title screen, updates, website and wiki are small icons at the top right, drawn like the gifts' icons: hover over one to see its name.
- Doors stay open once opened: they no longer close.
- The promises a knight leaves you fly from him to the counter, instead of a message.
- «Report a problem» in the pause menu now really sends your report to the developer, with the screenshot; without a connection it stays saved in a folder.
0.12.1
Additions
- A new keepsake, after the sixth-floor guardian: from then on trinkets turn up in vases, crates and shops.
Changes
- The HUD has been redone: courage is a star next to the mana, timed effects are badges by the minimap, item, spell and pocket have their own slots, and the icons are new.
- The pause menu has been redone in the HUD's style, with details for everything and a menu to quit.
- The title screen has been redone: «Continue» resumes your last princess, and each princess has her own card.
- The television of past descents now stands in the altar room, with a sofa and a rug; the room and its corridor are tidy.
- Exploding enemies show where they'll blow on the floor, like the guardians' attacks.
- Achievements, timed gifts and gift messages are shown more cleanly.
- E takes what you're looking at, not just the nearest thing, and never through a wall.
- Seven keepsakes have a single grade: buying them all now takes 847 promises.
Fixes

- Altars rising from the floor no longer come up under your feet or block the way.
- Enemies that burst from the floor or reappear no longer leave you stuck inside them.
